About the Clinician‘s Workday

The psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric care for children and adolescents across Journey (IDD), Discovery, and adolescent/young adult programs. Responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations for new admissions, initiating medications, and coordinating with the team on initial behavioral and treatment plans. The clinician will participate in weekly treatment team meetings reviewing approximately 25% of caseload each week, collaborating with therapists, nurse practitioners, and behavioral staff to adjust care plans across a 25-26 patient census. The position involves completing discharge assessments and summaries, including medication reconciliation and aftercare planning for patients with approximately 4-month average length of stay.
