Chief Strategy & Transition Officer (ABG HR LLC dba Authentic Brands Group) (New York, NY):
Shape and lead long-term strategic planning that aligns with ABG’s mission, market trends, and growth objectives; Drive the creation of new revenue streams by identifying high potential growth opportunities in licensing, partnerships, and innovation across ABG’s brand portfolio; Expand brand reach into new categories, channels, and digital platforms, adapting to evolving routes to market and consumer behaviors; Lead strategic market assessments and competitive analysis to uncover white-space opportunities and inform long-term planning; Identify and evaluate M&A opportunities, including due diligence, financial modeling, and determining strategic fit within ABG’s portfolio; Oversee post-acquisition licensing and integration planning, aligning M&A teams, operating partners, and acquired entities to ensure seamless transitions; Resolve complex business challenges with external stakeholders—including licensees, vendors, and partners—while protecting and strengthening ABG’s brand relationships; Develop and implement best practices for brand acquisition and integration, ensuring effective cross functional collaboration throughout the process; Forge and manage strategic alliances and partnerships that enhance ABG’s capabilities and unlock entry into new markets or business areas; and Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team to align on strategic priorities, monitor execution of the strategic plan, and recommend course corrections as needed. In order to complete the abovementioned tasks, the following skills and experience are required: Experience in long-term planning, market analysis, M&A evaluation, and financial modeling to drive growth and value creation; Experience identifying and activating new revenue streams through licensing, innovation, and category/channel expansion; Experience leading the full deal lifecycle, including due diligence, valuation, integration, and cross-functional alignment; Experience forging, negotiating, and managing strategic alliances, while navigating high-touch external stakeholder relationships; Experience collaborating across diverse teams and with C-suite leadership to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives; Experience evolving digital platforms, consumer trends, and emerging technologies to expand brand reach and relevance; Experience distilling complex ideas and influencing senior stakeholders; Experience in the fashion and sporting goods industries, with a strong understanding of market cycles, consumer behavior, and brand development; Experience with international markets, product creation, and supply chain management, enabling seamless execution from strategy to shelf; Experience driving corporate growth initiatives, managing brand expansion, and executing complex M&A transactions from evaluation through integration; Experience with global operations, including product creation, supply chain dynamics, and international market strategy; and Experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial, or private equity-backed environments, with a track record of delivering measurable impact. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, and at least seven (7) years of experience as a Chief Executive, General Manager or related occupation with leadership experience in strategy, business development, or M&A within the consumer, fashion, or sporting goods industries.
