The ideal candidate will support the Air Force Packaging Technology & Engineering Facility (AFPTEF) located at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH with the design, testing, and fabrication of long-life packaging, support, and storage solutions by performing the following duties individually or as a team member:
Equipment maintenance, repair, and acquisition
Hand tool accountability and control
Facility management
Facility safety and hazardous material control
Container testing and evaluation
Fabrication and assembly process support
Material handling and reorganization
Assisting with quality assurance for prototype and production units
Assisting with in-house projects and process improvements
Assisting in the preparation and release of technical reports
Minimum Qualifications:
Technical certificate from an accredited technical college, trade school, vocational school, or apprenticeship program in a relevant field
15 years of work experience with equipment maintenance, repair, or similar
5 years demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to follow complex instructions with the fabrication and assembly of packaging with no supervision and mentor younger personnel
5 year experience with quality assurance, maintenance record keeping, and related efforts
Track record of identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement
Experience working with the US Air Force
3 years experience working with the Air Force Packaging Technology & Engineering Facility (AFPTEF)
Effective written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite - namely Outlook, Word, and Excel
Attention to detail
Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen
