Chief Operating Officer
What You Will Be Doing:
The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is seeking an experienced and mission driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as a key member of the hospital's C Suite leadership team. This executive role is responsible for hospital operations, regulatory compliance, emergency management, and the systems that support safe, effective psychiatric care for Alaskans.
The COO translates strategic priorities into operational systems that improve patient care, enhance safety, and ensure regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include:

This position is located at 3700 Piper Street in the U-MED district of east Anchorage which offers several maintained walking trails, parks and nearby lakes. This area is filled with several restaurants, shopping stores, and has easy access to public transportation.

Master's degree (e.g., MHA, MBA)
Experience in inpatient hospital settings or other highly regulated healthcare environments.
Demonstrated success implementing process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
At least five years of experience overseeing hospital operations.
