We’re now seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to strengthen and streamline our headquarters operations, ensuring the systems, people, and processes behind the scenes are aligned to support sustainable growth.
The Role
The COO will oversee and develop all headquarters departments, ensuring the company operates efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with our strategic goals. This includes direct leadership of HR, Purchasing, Accounting/Finance, Estimating, Scheduling, and other administrative functions that support our branches and field teams.
This role requires a leader who understands the operational demands of a construction or trade‑based business and can translate that understanding into strong internal systems, disciplined processes, and high-performing teams.
You’ll work closely with the CEO to drive organizational clarity, strengthen cross‑departmental communication, and build the infrastructure needed for continued expansion.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage all HQ departments, including HR, Purchasing, Accounting/Finance, Estimating, and Scheduling.
- Translate the CEO’s vision into measurable goals, execution plans, and accountability across administrative and support functions.
- Develop and mentor department heads, ensuring consistent performance, communication, and alignment with company standards.
- Oversee financial performance, budgeting processes, and operational efficiency metrics.
- Strengthen coordination between HQ and branch operations to ensure seamless support for field teams.
- Build and refine scalable systems, policies, and reporting structures that support growth and operational consistency.
- Drive accountability through structured meetings, scorecards, and performance reviews.
- Champion company culture, communication, and leadership development across all HQ teams.
What Success Looks Like
- HQ departments operate with clarity, consistency, and efficiency.
- Branches receive timely, accurate, and proactive support from HQ.
- Financial and operational reporting is reliable, actionable, and aligned with company goals.
- Systems and leadership are strong enough to support new branch growth.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction, plumbing, or a related trade industry.
- Proven track record in multi-location or operations management.
- Strong understanding of field operations, scheduling, logistics, and financial accountability.
- A builder of systems and people, not just a manager.
- Excellent communicator with a steady, decisive leadership style.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-growing, hands-on environment.
