Modulate is the leader in conversational voice intelligence. We enable enterprises to deeply understand how people communicate and take timely action based on those insights. Our products help detect harm, prevent fraud, and build safer, more trusted online and real-world voice environments. We are building a Conversation Intelligence Platform - APIs, workflows, and applications that bring voice understanding to customers at enterprise scale.

About the Role

Modulate is looking for a Chief of Staff to serve as a strategic partner and operational extension of our executive leadership team. This role will work closely with our CEO and CTO to help ensure the organization runs smoothly as we scale, enabling leadership to focus on company strategy, fundraising, customer relationships, and other external priorities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-oriented, and thrives in ambiguity. They possess exceptional judgment, a strong ownership mindset, and the ability to identify, prioritize, and solve problems before they become obstacles. This person will play a critical role in driving alignment across teams, improving organizational effectiveness, and supporting the growth and development of our employees.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the operating model of a rapidly growing company while serving as a trusted advisor to both leadership and the broader team.

What You''ll Do

Act as an Extension of Executive Leadership

  • Partner closely with the CEO and CTO to drive key initiatives and organizational priorities.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and operational thought partner across the business.

  • Help identify, triage, and resolve issues that require leadership attention before they become larger organizational challenges.

  • Ensure important initiatives continue moving forward even when executive leadership is focused on external priorities such as fundraising, partnerships, and strategic growth efforts.

Drive Organizational Effectiveness

  • Improve communication, alignment, and collaboration across teams.

  • Identify sources of friction, confusion, or inefficiency and proactively implement solutions.

  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination and help teams navigate competing priorities.

  • Create processes and operating rhythms that improve execution and accountability.

Support Strategic Initiatives

  • Help coordinate major company initiatives, including product launches, organizational changes, and strategic projects.

  • Track progress against company goals and ensure stakeholders remain aligned.

  • Provide structure and follow-through on complex, cross-functional efforts.

Lead People Operations

  • Own and evolve people operations functions, including performance management, employee development, career growth frameworks, and organizational planning.

  • Serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees on people-related matters.

  • Build scalable programs that strengthen company culture and employee engagement and wellbeing.

What We''re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, Business Operations, People Operations, Talent Leadership, or related strategic operational role.

  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Strong ownership mindset with a willingness to step into ambiguous situations and drive outcomes.

  • High emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal judgment.

  • Experience managing sensitive people-related matters with professionalism and discretion.

  • Ability to influence and coordinate senior leaders across multiple functions.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
