Northwest Permanente is seeking a Board-Certified Medical Physicist to serve as Chief of Physics for our expanding Radiation Oncology program.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all clinical physics operations while guiding strategic growth and innovation. You will work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and play a central role in shaping the future of cancer care within one of the nations leading integrated health systems.
Radiation Oncology Program
- Team: 9 Radiation Oncologists, 5 Physicists, 7 Dosimetrists, 19 Therapists
- Technology:
- 4 Varian TrueBeam linacs (HDMLC & Millennium MLC)
- 6DOF couches, ExacTrac Dynamic, Surface Guidance systems
- ARIA / Eclipse EMR & planning system
- Brainlab Elements
- Clinical Capabilities:
- SRS/SBRT programs
- HDR brachytherapy
- Expansion:
- 5th linac
- Orthovoltage (Xstrahl)
- Second CT simulator
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of all clinical physics operations, including QA/QC programs
- Supervise and mentor medical physics staff and support dosimetry functions
- Deliver clinical expertise in:
- SRS / SBRT
- VMAT, IMRT, IGRT
- HDR brachytherapy
- Lead equipment selection, commissioning, and maintenance
- Drive strategic planning and technology adoption locally and across the Kaiser Permanente system

Minimum Qualifications
- ABR Board Certification (or equivalent) in Therapeutic Medical Physics
- Minimum 5 years of clinical Radiation Oncology experience
- Strong experience with:
- Varian platforms (TrueBeam, ARIA/Eclipse)
- Brainlab systems
- Experience with SRS/SBRT commissioning and HDR preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-building skills
