ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Marin, California, is seeking a strategic and solutions-oriented Chief Information and Innovation Officer (CIO) to lead its Information Services and Technology Department (IST) during an exciting period of modernization and renewed investment in digital service delivery. The next CIO will guide IST's evolution from a traditional IT support model to a proactive business-solutions partner. This role provides enterprise-wide direction for policy, governance, cybersecurity, systems planning, and long-term business solutions strategy across a complex and highly engaged organization. The CIO has a unique opportunity to improve alignment, modernize key systems, support responsible AI, and deliver innovative, customer-focused tools that elevate County operations and community services. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, relationship-building skills, business systems acumen, and sound judgment to foster collaboration, navigate complex priorities, and serve as a trusted advisor and partner to key stakeholders. SALARY & BENEFITS

This position will receive an annual salary of $271,190 - $298,937 DOE/DOQ*, PLUS an attractive benefits package .

  • Salary reflects a 4% Cost of Living Adjustment schedule in July 2026, and an additional salary adjustment pending Board of Supervisor approval prior to appointment.
