Chief Growth Officer – Insurance

Bergen County, NJ (4 days onsite; hybrid flexibility)

$250K - $400K base + significant commission/bonus upside

 

Position Overview

A growing health insurance brokerage is seeking a high-level executive leader to help scale and strengthen the overall business. This role is focused on organizational growth, operational leadership, revenue expansion, team development, and long-term business strategy, not just sales leadership.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of helping build and scale an insurance organization and can demonstrate meaningful impact on company growth, infrastructure, leadership development, and business performance.

Candidates may come from either the brokerage side or carrier side of the insurance industry.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven executive leader within the insurance industry

  • Experience helping scale and grow an insurance organization

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills

  • Strategic thinker who can execute and drive accountability

  • Experience leading senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Help lead and scale the overall business strategy and execution

  • Oversee sales leadership and broader organizational performance

  • Build infrastructure, processes, and scalable systems

  • Recruit, develop, and strengthen leadership and sales teams

  • Drive accountability, KPIs, and performance management across departments

  • Identify growth opportunities, partnerships, and expansion initiatives

  • Work closely with ownership on long-term strategic planning

  • Foster a high-performance, growth-oriented culture

Qualifications & Must-Haves

  • Extensive experience within the insurance industry (broker or carrier side)

  • Proven track record of helping scale or grow an insurance business

  • Executive-level leadership experience managing teams and leadership layers

  • Strong business strategy and operational leadership capabilities

  • Demonstrated success building teams, systems, and organizational structure

  • Health insurance / employee benefits experience strongly preferred
