Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer - Union City, NJ - Manufacturing Consumer Goods Company 

A privately held consumer products company located in Union City, NJ is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. The company operates a vertically integrated model across design, manufacturing, and distribution, with a strong reputation and long-standing customer relationships. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on finance leader.

Responsibilities: 

• Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team,
• Oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning 
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital 
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting, partnering closely with operations to improve margins
• Maintain relationships with lenders, including oversight of credit facilities and borrowing-base reporting
• Partner with sales and operations on pricing, profitability, and retailer-related deductions/chargebacks
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team while enhancing systems and processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
• 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership experience 
• Background in manufacturing, consumer products, wholesale/retail, or other inventory-heavy environments
• Strong expertise in inventory, cost accounting, and working capital management
• Experience managing lender relationships and debt facilities
• Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
• Strong communication and business partnering skills
