Description

The Chief Estimator - Healthcare, Life Science & Academic will be responsible for

  • Lead and oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for healthcare construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and addendums to determine scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather accurate cost data.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Evaluate project risks and create contingency plans to mitigate potential challenges.
  • Present cost estimates and proposals to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and construction methodologies.
  • Mentor and guide junior estimators to foster professional growth within the team.

Profile

A successful Chief Estimator should have:

  • A solid understanding of construction processes, particularly in healthcare projects - would also consider someone with a strong background in life science and/or higher education markets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to create accurate cost estimates.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
  • A proven ability to manage and lead a team of estimators.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
