Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing commercial construction team. This individual will lead the estimating process for a variety of commercial projects and play a critical role in delivering accurate, competitive, and profitable bids.
The ideal candidate must have strong commercial construction experience and a deep understanding of cost analysis, CSI divisions, and multiple delivery methods including hard bid and GMP contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full estimating process from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses across all CSI divisions
- Develop and manage estimates for:
- Ground-up construction
- Renovations
- Tenant Improvements (TI)
- Design/Build projects
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids
- Prepare GMP proposals and hard bid submissions
- Conduct scope reviews and gap analysis
- Collaborate with pre construction, project management, and operations teams
- Participate in value engineering efforts
- Review drawings and specifications to identify risk, cost drivers, and scope gaps
- Present estimates and bid strategies to executive leadership
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience (5-10 preferred for senior-level candidates)
- Proven experience estimating ground-up, renovation, TI, and/or design-build projects
- Strong working knowledge of CSI divisions
- Experience with GMP contracts and hard bid procurement
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and addenda accurately
- Strong subcontractor network and bid leveling experience
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Sage, Planswift, On-Screen Takeoff, etc.)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience leading or mentoring junior estimators
- Experience with conceptual budgeting and early design pricing
