My client is a full-service commercial contractor specializing in national retail and hospitality projects, as well as local commercial, multi-family, and healthcare work. Family-owned and operated since 1981, the company has grown to $390M in annual revenue while maintaining a strong, employee-first culture. They are actively looking to develop future leaders from within their Project Management team into leadership roles in the company.

Company Size:

  • 50 employees in the Madison office
  • 20 employees in the Milwaukee office
  • 60 field personnel

Role

  • This is a 90% office-based role, with limited travel (no more than 3 days per month)
  • Run 2-4 projects at a given time, dependent on size and client

Description

  • Lead and manage the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accuracy and feasibility of estimates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor and update cost databases to reflect current market trends and pricing.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and team members.
  • Ensure all estimates are completed within deadlines and align with company objectives.



Profile

  • Minimum 7 years in estimating or preconstruction management with a commercial general contractor.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Mathematics preferred.
  • Estimating or preconstruction management experience Commercial, healthcare, retail, multi-family, or industrial projects.
  • Experience with self-perform take-offs strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools commonly used in the industry.
  • A track record of successfully managing and delivering accurate estimates.

Job Offer

  • $150K-$175K+ base salary (flexible for the right candidate)
