Job Summary:
Working as a Laundry Chief Engineer, you are responsible for organizing and directing programs to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment through appropriate utilization of resources and delegation of responsibility. You will oversee and coordinate these activities along with engineering, transportation and security to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient operation. You will plan the course of these activities to meet financial/budgetary and regulatory requirements. You will maintain active and satisfactory working relationships with the rest of the management team, committees, and staff. You will provide leadership and guidance in the overall operation of the plant.
Oversees the safety of all operating equipment within the facility
Develops and trains all staff in plant and emergency procedures
Handles the procurement of all repair parts for routine preventative, and emergency repairs
Develops and maintains relationships with vendors
Develops a plant wide Preventative Maintenance Schedule for all building, process equipment, and plant utilities
Maintains the departmental budget with focus on parts, supplies and labor management
Assures compliance with all wastewater and emissions standards
Oversees outside contractors in the repairs and upkeep of plant equipment
Available for off-site, plants startups and special projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or military experience is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
Must be capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical, and plumbing blue prints
Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Good working knowledge all aspects of plant maintenance to include but not limited to; Electrical, Boilers, Hydraulics, Compressed Air, Mechanical Equipment
Military Transferrable Skills:
Navy Rank E-5 + with experience as ET- Electronics Technician, IC – Interior Communications, MM – Machinist Mate, EM- Electricians Mate is highly sought after
United States Coast Guard Rank E-5 plus with experience as EK - Machinery Technician and EM – Electricians Mate, and DC-Damage Control Man
Military positions understanding the electrical schematics of heavy duty machinery as well as boilers, chillers, hydraulics, & pneumatic pumps
