This position requires availability on weekends and holidays.Come join our FlockJob DescriptionReports ToGeneral ManagerSupervises Engineer staffGeneral PurposeAsa member of the hotel Executive Committee the Chief Engineerdevelopsimplementsand managesprograms for the operation and maintenance of all equipmentphysical structuresand landscaping in compliance with brandstandards local state and national codes and regulations to protect the asset guests and employees to ensure optimum operationsandminimize expenses and maximize customer satisfaction.TheChief Engineeris responsible for the short and long term planning and day-to-day operations of the engineeringdepartmentrecommends the departmentsbudget and capital expenditures andmanages expenses within approved budget constraints.SpecificResponsibilitiesSupervisesEngineersin the department.Attracts retainsand motivatesstaff.Hires trains develops empowers coachesand counsels conductsperformance and salary reviews resolvesproblems providesopen communication vehicles disciplinesand terminates as appropriate.Develops recommends implementsand managesthe departments budgetcapital expenditure plan forecasts and objectives consistent with maintaining a first class property and managements expectations.Develops implementsand managesa maintenance program and negotiate maintenance contracts for the hotel the grounds and all of the equipment in compliance withbrandstandards and local state and national codes and regulations to ensure the safety convenience and satisfaction of all guests managers and employees to protect the asset and maintain the property in first class condition.Develops implementsand directsall Emergency Programs ensuresall equipment is maintained conductsinspections and drills ensurescompliance with all codes and regulations trainsall employees and maintain accurate records to ensure a safe environment which protects the asset guests and employees.Develops implementsand managesenergy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses.Ensuresall guest requestcomplaintsrelated to the building and its systemsare resolved.Monitors equipment function daily checkingand maintaining optimaltemperatureand settingsof major operatingsystems.Ensuresthat all safety concerns areaddressedeveryday.Checksthat stairwells are clearthat there aredirect path to fire extinguishersandall breakers panels are free from obstructions.
