  • Lead R&D Projects: Spearhead research projects focused on developing novel composite materials based on market needs.
  • Conduct Lab Testing: Operate advanced lab equipment (e.g., Instron, QUV weathering testers) for tensile, flexural, and impact testing.
  • Troubleshoot Production: Investigate formulation or manufacturing issues using root-cause analysis and reverse engineering.
  • Manage Compliance: Assist the Operations Manager with government reporting requirements, including AQMD, CARB, Stormwater, and Hazardous Waste.
  • Maintain Documentation: Create and update SDS/TDS sheets, technical lab reports, and formula databases (ISO, ECC).
  • Mentor Teams: Provide daily guidance and training to junior chemists and lab technicians to foster a collaborative environment.

What We Look For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in composites, polymers, paints, coatings, or materials development.
  • Testing Expertise: Proven familiarity with mechanical testing methods and physical property analysis.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of chemical safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, REACH, RoHS, ISO).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading research projects and translating technical data into actionable insights.
  • Communication: Ability to write professional reports and present findings to vendors, customers, and management.
  • Physical Ability: Fully capable of working safely within both a laboratory and active production environment.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive Salary: Generous base pay matching your industry experience level.
  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage options.
  • Retirement Plan: 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous vacation days, sick leave, and paid company holidays.
