Description

Summary:

  • Location: Cincinnati, OH
  • Duration: 7 Months

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implement it in work design.
  • Prepare polymer samples and standards for testing, including compression molding, melt flow testing, tensile testing, and other physical characteristics testing for polymers.
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment; run instruments accurately per established methods, calibrate regularly, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure equipment adheres to manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
  • Collect test data, review findings for accuracy, and report through established systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned under general supervision.
  • Exercise a certain degree of creativity and latitude.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher, or equivalent job experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
