Position: Chemical Process Technician
Location: Carlsbad, CA 92011
Job Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $28 $32/hour
Schedule: Monday Friday, 5:00 AM 1:30 PM PST
Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Summary

We are seeking an Operations Technician to support chemical manufacturing operations in Carlsbad, CA. This role involves receiving, decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, and filling vessels with ultra-pure chemicals.
The ideal candidate has experience in chemical handling or a fast-paced manufacturing environment, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to perform physically demanding work. SAP experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Perform manual and automated vessel decontamination.
Fill and package chemical products.
Consolidate hazardous waste according to established procedures.
Acid wash stainless steel and quartz vessels.
Assist with receiving materials and unloading trucks.
Assemble vessels using drawings and written work instructions.
Inspect vessels and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
Assist with troubleshooting system issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
Safely handle chemicals including acids, acetone, IPA, and other solvents.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work safely with chemicals and required PPE.
Must be clean-shaven to properly wear required respiratory protection.
Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
Ability to read and understand SDS and written work instructions.
Ability to use basic hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience handling chemicals, solvents, acids, acetone, or IPA.
Experience in chemical manufacturing, production, or a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience with SAP and/or LIMS.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Physical & Work Requirements

Frequently lift and carry 25 35 pounds.
Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Wear a full-face air-purifying respirator and other required PPE.
Complete a pre-placement Fit for Duty Evaluation.
Follow all applicable chemical handling, safety, and environmental procedures.
