POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Production Supervisor, and is responsible for performing all day-to-day activities involving Material
Handling and Packaging functions
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Safely use standard forklift, pallet jack and hand cart to load, unload, and move product
Material Handling and Packaging functions - filling, lifting, rolling and labeling drums and pails of hazardous chemicals by
following detailed procedures
Completing required paperwork for product batches
Keep work area clean and organized and ensure equipment is kept in clean, working order
Adhere to OSHA standards and safe work practices at all times
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, and previous experience in shipping, receiving, material handling is a must;
preferably in a manufacturing environment in the Chemical industry
Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training
Basic math and computer skills
Knowledge of OSHA standards and Safe Work procedures
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers and supervisors
Self-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision, be highly motivated, and enjoy working as part of a team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to work an eight (8) hour shift in a fast paced, chemical manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required
Must have the ability to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and frequently walk, bend,
kneel, stoop, reach, and generally perform physically demanding tasks
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, hard hats, steel toe cap boots,
and company provided uniform
FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt
HOURS: 40 Hours, Full-time
WORK SCHEDULE: 2nd shift - 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Monday-Friday
PAY RANGE: $19.00-$21.00 /hour includes $1.00 shift
