This is a 3rd shift position, 11pm - 7:30am Sunday through Friday morning.
Training is on 1st shift up to 90 days.  7am - 3:30pm.
 
SUMMARY OF JOB
Provide support to the production department by maintaining the chemistry quality to designed engineering standards for our plating tanks at Hohman Plating.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain established chemical limits for plating tanks
  • Transfer & add chemicals to buckets and tanks/baths based on schedule
  • Change filters and anodes based on schedule
  • Dump, clean and replace chemicals in tanks/baths
  • Wear and maintain proper PPE as defined by department
  • Adequate computer skills for data entry and electronic sign off (Microsoft Office Skills)
  • Load and unload materials using forklift
  • Consistently completes scheduled tasks within focus area
  • Inspect tanks daily to ensure no leaks, tanks are topped off to a specified level
  • Identify and correct out of tolerance results as applicable
  • Maintain 5s/Lean concepts established company-wide & by department
  • Communicate equipment failures to maintenance technicians and affected personnel
  • Independently troubleshoot simple tank issues
  • Conduct simple chemical testing in support of production processes
  • Effectively communicate test nonconformities to supervisors and affected personnel
  • Use and calibrate standard testing equipment
  • Consistently and accurately document chemical usage
  • Ability to communicate and perform in a fast-paced team environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; prior experience with chemical solutions, fluid handling systems or wastewater treatment systems preferred; must have strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on attention to detail; must pass forklift certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to dangerous chemicals, including exposure to fumes or airborne particles below OSHA permissible limits.  Frequently exposed to high heat and humid conditions.  Employee will be frequently exposed to loud sounds, below the OSHA permissible limits.
