Impact of the Role
General Profile
- Requires skills developed through formal training or work experience
- Works within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify approach
- Completes assigned tasks with a moderate degree of supervision
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions
- Controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products.
- Operates equipment and monitors the chemical and production process to ensure efficient and safe output.
- Follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing.
- Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed.
- Enters required production data and information into logs.
- May unload or move materials.
- Follows all procedures for safe chemical handling and required safety gear.
Required Qualifications
- Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Equipment Operation. Material Handling. Quality Inspection. Record Keeping. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). System Monitoring. Troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
Travel Requirements:
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
