    Role Overview

    We are seeking an Engineer (Chemical Analysis) to join our Materials, Chemistry, and Surfaces team. This is a hands-on, lab-based role focused on executing analytical jobs, collecting high-quality data, and supporting data analysis across a range of chemistry techniques. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members to deliver reliable results on schedule, support method development efforts, and maintain high standards of laboratory execution and data quality.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Execute projects across multiple analytical chemistry techniques, including GC-MS, ICP-MS/OES, HPLC, LC-MS, FTIR.
    • Support electrochemical characterization projects, including EIS, CV, LSV, corrosion analysis, and battery cycling.
    • Interpret data, compile findings, and present results in clear, customer-facing reports. Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, instrument conditions, and results.
    • Maintain and optimize instrument performance, interface with vendor support, and manage ordering and tracking of parts and consumables. 

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience in industrial or applied analytical chemistry.
    • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following techniques: GC-MS, ICP-MS/OES, HPLC, LC-MS, FTIR.
    • Experience with electrochemical techniques such as EIS, CV, LSV, corrosion analysis, and/or battery cycling.
    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex analytical challenges across a range of techniques. Creative problem solving, independence, and strong communication skills.
    • A quality-first approach to method development and troubleshooting.

     

    Beneficial Qualification

    • Familiarity with lab quality standards and practices (e.g., ISO 17025, ASTM, GMP)
    • Experience working across multiple analytical techniques in a service, applications, or industrial lab environment.
    • Ability to support laboratory operations on an offset schedule, with a preference for regular working hours of 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM to align with project and instrument needs.
