Job Summary:
The chassis fleet specialist will perform inspections of the units and conduct preventive/corrective repairs. Specialists will also provide porting and localized transportation services as needed. The chassis fleet specialist should have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues within the scope of the title.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect chassis systems for potential or existing defects
Conduct preventive maintenance for tires pressure, fuel, battery etc.
Follow protocol for follow up maintenance as mentioned above
Perform repairs for chassis systems, ABS & structural assemblies
Maintenance of records for findings discovered during quality checks
Pre-wash vehicles further inspecting vehicle for final delivery
Transport vans presenting issue to body shop or dealer
Ordering and tracking vehicle parts
Receiving fleet vehicles and storing within van parking lot
Qualifications:
Ability to perform sub-duties as needed outside of the scope of title
Automotive maintenance experience with emphasis on chassis systems
Working knowledge of mechanics, motorhome maintenance & repairs
Physical ability to lift and handle materials possibly in excess of 50 lbs
Experience driving and operating various vehicle classifications
Commitment to quality and a strong attention to detail
Understanding of manufacturing or production line process
Understanding of safety protocols in a workshop setting or warehouse environment
Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools and other assembly equipment
