Job Title: Charge RN – Med Surg / Ortho (Night Shift)

Job Type: 13-Week Contract
Schedule: 4 x 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical/Post-Surgical Orthopedic unit. This role is responsible for coordinating patient care activities, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent clinical judgment, and recent Med Surg and/or Orthopedic nursing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products according to clinical standards
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately within EPIC EMR
- Lead and support nursing staff during assigned shifts as Charge RN
- Coordinate workflow and assist with clinical decision-making on the unit
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and patient care standards
- Float to other applicable units as needed based on staffing requirements
- Participate in weekend, holiday, and rotating coverage schedules as required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the State of Maine
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience preferred
- Previous experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Orthopedic units required
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Strong skills in patient assessment, IV therapy, and medication administration
- Experience using EPIC EMR preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
