Position Summary:

The Charge Nurse (RN or LPN) is responsible for leading the clinical team during the assigned shift, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care. This role provides direct nursing care while overseeing workflow, supporting team members, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. The Charge Nurse serves as a key leader on the unit, promoting a positive environment for residents, families, and team members.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily clinical operations for the assigned unit during the day shift
  • Provide direct nursing care, including assessments, medication administration, and treatments
  • Supervise and support CNAs and other nursing staff, ensuring quality care and accountability
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident outcomes
  • Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a culture aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
  • Participate in care planning and quality improvement initiatives


Qualifications:

  • Active RN or LPN license in the state of Nebraska (or compact state, if applicable)
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
