Position Summary

The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing and coordinating nursing care on the assigned shift while ensuring residents receive high-quality, individualized care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and state and federal regulations. The Charge Nurse serves as a clinical leader and resource for nursing staff, promotes positive resident outcomes, and supports a culture built on teamwork, responsiveness, and service excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and medication administration to residents
  • Supervise and support CNAs and other nursing team members during the shift
  • Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes appropriately to physicians, families, and leadership
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident needs and emergencies
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and resident assessments as needed
  • Promote a positive team culture and support exceptional customer service


Qualifications

  • Active RN or LPN license in the state of Nebraska
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team-focused environment
