The Associate Chaplain under the direction of the Spiritual Care provides hospital-based spiritual care and pastoral support to patients, families, and staff during the evening and night shifts, including holidays and weekends. This role also covers some weekend day shifts. They function as a representative of the Department of Spiritual Care and help provide our unique 24/7 on-site Spiritual Care.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous pastoral ministry experience of chaplaincy in a hospital setting.
  • 1 unit of CPE
  • Ministry work in a church or similar

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degrees (BS, MTS, MSW, Ph.D., Ed. D., etc.)
  • Master's Degree of Divinity or similar
  • 2-4 Units of CPE
  • Board Certification: Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), Spiritual Care Association (SCA), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC).
  • Eligible for Professional Board Chaplain Certification
  • Ordination (or similar based upon spiritual background) and in Good Standing
