JOB SUMMARY: The Chapel Attendance Coordinator serves the Dean of Students to track student attendance in chapel, proactively communicate with individuals and groups regarding attendance, and escalate students deficient in their attendance for appropriate corrective measures. Their work is done primarily in Evangel Connect and relies heavily on fluency in Microsoft Office 365 and Teams. The work schedule is 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays during the academic year, with additional hours of remote work available.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Load and manage all students in the appropriate attendance track in Evangel Connect each semester.
Process exemption and excused absence requests. Requests which are not clear in the application may need additional review before processing. Flag repeat requests for additional follow up.
Ensure scan-in/out screens are on and the QR code is visible at least 15 minutes prior to the start of service and for up to 10 minutes after service begins.
Review assets from security regarding camera footage at various locations around campus for additional eyes regarding campus activity.
Receive and compare reports of chapel scans and prox access scans to discover students who may be attempting to falsify their attendance record. Follow up as appropriate.
Manually enter the following into Evangel Connect for attendance: Students who do not have smartphones, students who have difficulty checking in.
Update the completion record for students who are absent from chapel for school-related or approved absences.
Communicate with students as they accrue absences to inform them of their status, options for excused absences, etc. through Evangel Connect.
Connect with IT and the Evangel Connect coordinator for technical issues with the check-in/out experience.
Draft and send email communications through Evangel Connect to prompt student participation in chapel.
Provide technical support for students struggling with Evangel Connect.
Close out the attendance record at the end of each year and archive the report within Evangel Connect.
Support and uphold the priority of chapel attendance through strategic decision making, finding solutions for students to remain active participants, and corrective measures when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
Highly fluent in modern office technology, use of Microsoft Copilot, Evangel Connect is required for data processing.

Strong research abilities with problem‑solving skills and experience at gathering information from multiple sources to create a clear and complete picture.

EQUIPMENT USED
Personal computer, various software programs in the Microsoft Suite.
SCHEDULE:
As a general rule, this position is active on campus in the morning on days of chapel.
This individual will share an office space with an employee who works during the afternoon/evening.
