Chapel & Spiritual Life Coordinator

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordination & Scheduling

Chapel Schedule

  • Invite and confirm chapel speakers.
  • Assigning guest arrangements including but not limited to arranging travel, meals, and housing, etc.
  • Coordinating times of engagement between speakers and student body.

Discipleship Groups

  • Recruit and track volunteers.

  • Organize group logistics, including:

  • Locations

  • Schedules

  • Semester group offerings

  • Communicate attendance and logistical information.

Spiritual Life Events

  • Manage Worship & Prayer Event Request Forms
  • Collaborate with the Event Coordinator to schedule
  1. Chapel Attendance & Student Participation

Manage Chapel attendance and assess student participation in Chapel; reporting attendance issues to Chaplain, VP of Student Life and Dean of Students; develop policies and procedures as appropriate, communicate with students.

  • Oversight of iAttended (maintain subscription) and various attendance software
  • Creating, collecting, and processing chapel attendance-related forms
  • Updating chapel credit policies & approving chapel credits
  • Approve work study during chapel and manage database
  • Communicate to students with chapel accommodations
  • Communicate with students regarding chapel accommodations.

Midterm and Final Grades

  • Create graphs and reports to send to Chaplain, ultimately to VP of Student Life
  • Send midterm and final check-ins to students
  • Manage probation/suspension database
  1. Oversight of Spiritual Life/Chapel Budget
  • Assist in creating annual budget
  • Track spending and manage receipts
  • Make check requests and purchase orders
  • Maintain subscription
  1. Documentation & Communications
  • Prepare and update applications, schedules, policy documents, Sakai and website information.
  1. Student Employee Supervision
  • Supervise and train student employees, including:
  • Chapel Attendance Assistant
  • Student Assistant
  1. Chaplaincy Support
  • Participation in a variety of responsibilities with Chaplain such as Chapel orientation, writing trustee reports, etc.

Working Environment and Schedule

  • Office-based with frequent interaction with visitors and prospective students.
