Overview
The Chamber Music Assistant provides administrative and on-site support for the Yale School of Music Chamber Music program and the undergraduate Performance of Chamber Music seminar (Music 2220/2221). Working closely with the Director of Chamber Music, this role supports concert operations, scheduling and room logistics, student communications, course administration, and event/class support.
Duties include:
1. Provide concert and event support for chamber music performances, auditions, masterclasses, meetings, and other related events.
2. Maintain attendance records for designated YSM Chamber Music concerts; attend relevant concerts as needed to support documentation and operations.
3. Coordinate schedules and manage room reservations for rehearsals, coachings, classes, and performances as needed.
4. Provide building/studio access support by unlocking and relocking designated studios in Leigh as scheduled.
5. Distribute and collect evaluations, request forms, and other course materials; track submissions.
6. Provide administrative support for Music 2220/2221, including class setup and in-class assistance as needed.
7. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Chamber Music
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
2. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; comfort communicating with students and faculty.
3. Proficiency with common office tools (email, calendars, spreadsheets) and ability to learn/operate Canvas effectively.
4. Reliability and professionalism; ability to handle sensitive academic records appropriately.
5. Ability to be present for scheduled concerts/events and to perform light administrative/physical tasks (printing/copying, materials setup).
Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. Prior administrative support experience in an academic, arts, or events setting.
2. Familiarity with classical music performance environments and/or conservatory operations.

Develops activities, monitors effectiveness, and identifies potential areas of improvement or change. 3. Manages administration including use of resources. 4. Conducts outreach and communications as needed. 5. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
