Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Materials Sampling & Inspection (MSI) Professional

Build What Matters. Inspect What Lasts.

We're looking for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / MSI Professional to join our growing team and play a critical role in shaping some of the most impactful construction projects across the Triangle region. If you're passionate about quality, safety, and seeing your work contribute to high-profile builds, this is your opportunity to make a real difference.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of construction quality-ensuring structural integrity and compliance across complex projects while working alongside top-tier engineers, contractors, and developers.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our inspection team, you will:

  • Ensure quality where it counts by performing visual and nondestructive inspections on structural steel, piping, and welded components
  • Support critical testing efforts by collecting and documenting materials samples (concrete, soils, aggregates) for lab analysis
  • Bring plans to life by interpreting engineering drawings, weld procedures, and specifications to verify compliance
  • Be a trusted partner on-site, monitoring contractor work to uphold quality, safety, and code requirements
  • Own your impact by producing detailed reports, daily logs, and photographic documentation that drive project decisions
  • Collaborate with industry experts including project managers, engineers, and clients to solve quality challenges
  • Protect project integrity by identifying non-conforming work and recommending corrective actions
  • Stay hands-on with testing by witnessing welder qualifications and advanced NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT)
  • Work across diverse projects throughout Raleigh, Durham, and the surrounding Triangle region

What You Bring

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • 3+ years of experience in welding inspection, construction QA, or related field
  • Experience with Materials Sampling & Inspection (MSI) or construction materials testing
  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASTM, ICC, and related standards
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret construction documents and blueprints
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT)
  • Additional certifications (ICC, ACI, NDT Level II, etc.)
  • Experience on large-scale commercial, infrastructure, or high-rise projects
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification
  • Exposure to high-profile projects such as healthcare, higher education, data centers, or transportation

Why Join Us?

  • Work on projects that matter in one of the fastest-growing regions in the Southeast
  • Gain exposure to complex, high-visibility builds that elevate your experience
  • Collaborate with top industry professionals in a supportive, team-oriented environment
  • Grow your career with opportunities for advanced certifications and professional development
  • Competitive compensation and benefits that recognize your expertise and contributions

Work Environment

This is a dynamic, field-based role on active construction sites. You'll work outdoors in varying conditions and stay active-walking, climbing, and engaging directly with job sites. Every day brings new challenges, new teams, and new opportunities to make an impact.
