Responsibilities

Maximize surgical precision by expertly positioning patients and utilizing stabilizing equipment to ensure optimal site exposure while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Lead operative site visualization by skillfully manipulating tissue and managing materials through retraction and irrigation, providing the surgeon with a clear and focused field.

Master surgical hemostasis by applying advanced techniques to control bleeding, a critical factor in maintaining patient stability and achieving successful clinical outcomes.

Facilitate surgical closure by assisting with body plane suturing and the meticulous application of dressings and drainage systems to promote secure and healthy healing.

Prepare the theater for excellence by collaborating with the surgical team to equip the suite with the exact instruments and resources required for each unique procedure.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Certified Assistant Surgical Assistant specializing in Surgery credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associates degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
