Certified Surg Technologist (CST) – Wellstar Augusta University Medical Center – SurgTech

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist during surgical procedures by ensuring the sterile environment and proper handling of instruments
  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments and supplies
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Handle multiple priorities efficiently in emergency and routine situations
  • Document procedures and supply usage accurately

Required Skills:
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in collaborating with healthcare teams and delegating tasks
  • Critical thinking and adaptability in high-pressure scenarios
  • Attention to detail and vigilance to ensure patient safety
  • Basic computer literacy, including Word and Excel

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with Epic electronic health records
  • Familiarity with surgical procedures in an acute care setting
  • Advanced certifications in specialized surgical areas

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or related credentials such as TS-C, CSFA, or CSA
  • Prior experience working in surgical or hospital environments

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held
  • Availability for shifts from 6:45 am to 5:15 pm, four days a week
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications upon hire
  • This position involves working with a diverse healthcare team in a demanding environment
