Partner, Tax Strategy & Advisory (CPA)
Cambium Tax Planners — Flagstaff, Arizona
Full‑time | Leadership role | Partnership track | Relocation support available
Build the future of integrated advice.
Cambium Tax Planners is seeking an experienced CPA who wants more than a seat at the table — someone ready to help build and lead a modern professional services firm at the intersection of tax, wealth management, and law.
Our sister firm, Cambium Wealth Partners, has turned away dozens of prospective clients over the past year because our tax practice couldn’t absorb the demand. The clients are here. The opportunity is real. What’s missing is the right leader to shape the next chapter of the tax practice — with meaningful autonomy from day one, real influence over how the firm operates, and a clear path to ownership within the broader Cambium platform.
If you’re a mid‑ to senior‑career CPA weighing a long, uncertain partner track at a traditional firm versus the cost and risk of striking out on your own, this role represents a genuine third option: the ability to lead, grow, and build equity — without starting from scratch.
The Opportunity
This role is designed for a CPA who wants to shape the direction of a practice, not simply manage a book. You will work alongside wealth advisors and attorneys on complex, integrated client situations while helping lead the tax practice through its next phase of growth.
You’ll step into an established, in-demand practice with the freedom to influence team structure, workflows, technology, pricing, and service design — and the platform support to turn those decisions into sustainable growth.

About Cambium
Cambium is building something deliberately different: an integrated wealth, tax, and legal firm designed to serve individuals, families, and business owners as one coordinated team. Arizona’s legal framework makes this integration possible, and we are fully embracing the advantage.
Cambium Tax Planners works hand‑in‑hand with Cambium Wealth Partners and Cambium Law to deliver proactive planning across financial strategy, tax, and estate matters. We are formalizing a holding‑company structure that will bring the three firms under common ownership — creating true economic alignment and long‑term equity participation tied to the growth of the whole platform.
We value stewardship, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, long‑term client relationships, and sustainable workloads. We are building for durability, not quarterly optics.
Core Competencies:
- Collaborative temperament — genuinely enjoys working across disciplines
- Strategic orientation: you see client situations in multi-year terms, not one return at a time
- Experience improving workflows or implementing technology a plus

- Base salary: $120,000 – $155,000 DOE
- Performance bonus tied to firm and practice metrics
- Equity participation opportunity in the forthcoming holding company structure, with a defined pathway to expanded ownership

- Discounted wealth, tax, and estate planning services for staff
Why Flagstaff
- Flagstaff sits at 7,000 feet in the pines of northern Arizona — four real seasons, no Phoenix summers, and world-class outdoors within twenty minutes of downtown. The historic core is walkable and anchored by Northern Arizona University, and the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Lake Powell are all within day-trip distance. A small city with real community and an outsized quality of life.
Requirements:
- Active CPA license (Arizona license or ability to obtain)
- 7+ years of experience in tax preparation, review, and advisory
- Demonstrated experience serving high-net-worth individuals and business owners
- Comfortable preparing and reviewing complex individual, trust, and business returns independently
- Ready to take ownership of client relationships and technical work from day one
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Supervisory experience and a developmental mindset toward staff
