FLOAT PHLEBOTOMIST - Columbus, OH
Hiring a full-time, experienced Float Phlebotomist with at least 3 to 5 years of high-volume venipuncture tenure to join our award-winning organization to travel around Columbus, OH. Must be Certified Phlebotomy Tech, have active auto insurance, and previous travel or float experience. Travel/Per Diem covered, mileage reimbursed; Overnight stays may be required.
Rate: $21.39/hr - $24.06/hr | Based on experience
> Additional pay: Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate ($0.73), time in car and miles driven
Shift: Mon to Fri, 8-5
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 to 5 years of Phlebotomy experience & tenure
- Prior FLOAT or TRAVEL Phlebotomy experience
- Active CPT Certification
- High School Diploma
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Active auto insurance.
- Valid Driver's License with a minimum of 1 year driving experience.
- Less than 3 minor moving violation convictions within the previous 3 years.
- Overnight stays may be required.
JOB DUTIES:
- Travel to assignment within the designated region within short notice.
- Ensures all field patient service and PSC specimens are collected accurately/on time.
- Explain process of venipuncture & other specimen collection; Reduce patient anxiety by providing a calm environment for patients before, during and after.
- Completes requisitions accurately. Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing info.
- Communicate to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e. diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by the specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen.
- Utilizes time appropriately. Capable of maintaining fluctuating patient flow.
- Displays courteous and professional behavior to clients, patients, and co-workers. Communicates with co-workers and clients in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
- Performs duties in an independent manner.
- Contributes to a positive work climate and to the team effort of the department.
