Education
Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
Licensure & Certification
Current South Carolina Occupational Therapy License in good standing.
Current certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of pediatric occupational therapy experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in K-12 public schools or special education settings.
Familiarity with educational Medicaid documentation and billing.
Experience supervising OTA students or therapy support staff.
Additional qualifications deemed appropriate and acceptable by District administration.
Direct Student Services
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs.
Implement therapy plans under the direction of the Supervising Occupational Therapist.
Support students in developing skills necessary for educational participation and independence.
IEP Team Collaboration
Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, educators, administrators, and families.
Participate in IEP meetings and assist in monitoring student progress toward established goals.
Communicate effectively regarding student performance and therapy outcomes.
Clinical Supervision
Serve as a Clinical Supervisor for assigned OTA students when applicable.
Provide mentorship and guidance in accordance with AOTA standards.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy services.
Complete required Medicaid billing and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
Ensure adherence to AOTA standards, South Carolina licensure requirements, and district policies.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervising Occupational Therapist, Lead Occupational Therapist, and/or Director of Speech Therapy.

Position Overview
The School District of Greenville County is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students with disabilities across multiple school sites throughout Greenville County. Working under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and district leadership, the COTA will provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to help students achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
