Responsibilities:
  • Key responsibilities consist of assisting patients with ADLs, including bathing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and feeding.
  • Providing mobility support including repositioning, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
  • Obtaining and documentation of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations blood pressure, oxygen saturation) per protocol.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to RN promptly.
  • Assist patients with elimination needs, including use of bedpans, urinals, condom catheters, pure wicks, and provide catheter care (per scope of practice). Documentation of accurate intake and output per protocol.
  • Maintain a safe patient environment by adhering to fall precautions, bed alarms, and safety protocols. Follow standard and transmission -based precautions per hospital guidelines.
  • Perform proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in prevention of hospital-acquired conditions (e.g., pressure injuries, falls).
  • Accurately document care provided in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in bedside shift reports and patient rounding. Report patient concerns, pain, or changes in status immediately to the nurse.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care.
  • Support patient and family engagement by answering basic questions and reinforcing education as directed by the nurse.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and nursing stations.
  • Stock supplies and ensure equipment availability.
  • Assist with transport of patients to other departments if needed.
  • Assist with post-mortem care when applicable.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned
Additional Information:

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience Preferred
  • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire Required and
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support with American Red Cross Upon Hire Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
