Position Highlights

Cardiac Care Unit – Post-Cardiac Surgery, or CCUPCS: This 21-bed unit bridges intensive care and med-surg units. Patients require a high intensity of nursing care and a high level of surveillance for conditions such as ventricular assist devices, heart or lung transplants, artificial hearts, complicated post-cardiac surgical patients, specialized care in cardiac drips, external pacing and SWANs.

    Certified Nursing Assistant:

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 16 years of age required.

    • Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska.

    • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.

    • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

    Nursing Assistant:

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 18 years of age required.

    • High school education or equivalent required.

    • Six months experience in  patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program.

    • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.•

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Direct patient care experience preferred.

    • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.

    • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
