Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse provides personal cares for comfort, personal hygiene and grooming to all Anna John Resident Centered Care Community residents according to established policies and procedures.
Duties:
- Provide personal cares for comfort, cleanliness, personal hygiene and grooming to residents
- Administer bed baths, sitz baths, showers, and whirlpool tub baths; assist in prevention of skin redness or breakdown
- Transfer residents to chairs or beds using patient lifts as needed
- Assist in the admission and discharge procedure of residents
- Accompany residents to out of facility appointments and recreational activities
- Assist residents as needed; sets up trays and passes water with intake of food/fluids
- Collect urine, fecal and sputum samples
- Take vital signs as instructed
- Perform restorative nursing measures as instructed including ambulation, range of motion, turning and repositioning
- Assist residents with toileting needs
- Document in residents' charts as instructed
- Clean and maintain room equipment; makes beds, changes bedding, cleans resident's equipment, collect trays, and keeps utility and tub room in order
- Contributes to the team effort
- Maintain professional and practice-based knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional multidisciplinary work groups; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of department organization, functions, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Exercise independent judgement
- Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines
- Obtain additional education and training
- Be compassionate and caring
- Comply with Caregiver Law and Grant conditions criminal history checks as a condition of employment to include fingerprinting
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondences
- Knowledge of applicable Oneida Nation, federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements
- Must complete Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training prior to employment and annually thereafter
- Ability to operate various types of medical equipment including patient lifts and computers
