Job Description

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for full-time Certified Nursing Assistants to provide onsite patient care services at The Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville, Kentucky.

Job Summary: Certified Nursing Assistants must provide services necessary to perform onsite services

to our Veteran population located at The Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville, Kentucky. Certified Nursing Assistant are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals. A CNA is to focus on the care of veterans so patients may attain, maintain, or recover to optimal health and quality to life

Pay: $18.44

Duties:

  • Provide close observation of patients. Document on patient's observation flow sheet hourly or as directed by RN to document patient behavior, Activity of Daily Living, and physical care every tour. Documentation requirements can occur every 15 minutes as delegated by the nurse or charge nurse.
  • Delivery of direct patient care to include personal hygiene care (bathing, dressing, toileting), assistance with meals, lifting and moving, and assistance with ambulation.
  • Ability to assist in the full range of nursing care to patients/residents with physical and/or behavioral problems in a hospital, long term care setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse Licensed Practical Nurse, to include, but not limited to taking measures, records and reports weight, height, vital signs, intake and output, foley care, collecting urine, stool and sputum tests, set up and monitor wall and tank oxygen, collects and assembles chest suction equipment.
  • Ability to communicate orally with patients/residents, families, interdisciplinary team and other personnel. This includes serving as a preceptor to new CNAs by assisting with the coordination of their orientation and overseeing/assessing their practical experience while in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance. For example, recognizing need for basic life support, preventing falls, controlling bleeding and assisting with behavior crisis, etc.
  • Report changes in mental or physical status immediately to assigned nurse/charge nurse.

Qualification:

  • Required to have a current BLS certificate by the American Heart Association or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience of working as a Certified Nursing Assistant within the last three (3) years.
  • (3) Professional References
  • Current license as a Certified Nursing Assistant in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property.
  • Shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.

Additional Information:

  • Multiple shifts include Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 pm., 3 p.m.- 11 p.m., 11 p.m. - 7 a.m., 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and 7 p.m.- 7 a.m., excluding Federal holidays
  • Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) shall provide a tour which consists of eight (8) working hours with a 30-minute meal break (non-paid) and two 15-minute breaks (paid)
