Qualifications/Educational Requirements for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Certification and Licensing:
- Must provide an original, current, valid State of Florida license, or
- Provide appropriate documentation as required by the state in which they are practicing, meeting the minimum qualifications.
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in direct patient/client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility), or
- Three (3) years of full-time experience within the last five (5) years in direct patient/client care in an agency setting.
- Home health experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Reliable automobile with current automobile insurance.
- Current health certificate/physical examination and TB testing results.
- Current CPR certification.
