As a Certified Nursing Assistant, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:

• Care for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients at home or in facilities
• Work with a team to deliver excellent patient care
• Help with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating and nutritional intake
• Assist with ambulation, transfers and range of motion exercises
• Observe patient and notify supervisor of issues requiring a change in care, medication or equipment

A few must-haves for Certified Nursing Assistants:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and active Nursing Assistant Certification in California
• Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience in a medical facility
• CPR certification
• Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
• Compassionate nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Drivers License and reliable transportation
