QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
Pediatric experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge of EMR systems and basic clinical procedures.
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work effectively with children of all ages and their families.
Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and excellent bedside manner.
Preferred Skills
Experience administering pediatric immunizations.
Familiarity with growth charts and developmental screenings.
Ability to calm anxious children and provide reassurance to parents.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet patients and families and prepare them for appointments.
Obtain and document vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
Record medical histories, medications, allergies, and symptoms.
Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
Administer immunizations and medications in accordance with state regulations and clinic policies.
Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing, including rapid strep and flu tests.
Conduct hearing and vision screenings.
Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and minor procedures as permitted.
Maintain infection control protocols and sterilize equipment.
Accurately document patient care in the EMR system.
Administrative Duties
Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits.
Register new patients and verify insurance information.
Obtain prior authorizations and process prescription refill requests.
Answer phone calls and patient portal messages.
Coordinate specialty referrals.
Maintain medical records and process school, sports, and daycare forms.
Monitor inventory and order medical supplies, vaccines, and medications
