What You’ll Do
As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, handling clerical functions and delivering outstanding patient care.
Responsibilities include:
- Room patients and prepare them for appointments
- Record medical histories, vital signs, and patient information in the EHR
- Assist providers during exams and in-office procedures
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, wound care, and other clinical in-office testing as needed
- Ensure exam rooms and clinical equipment remain clean, organized, fully stocked, and ready for patient care.
- Schedule patient appointments, provide financial counseling, and verify insurance information.
- Answer and triage phone calls, assist with patient referrals, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Perform clerical duties such as processing paperwork, verifying patient information, and managing electronic files in systems like AthenaClinicals
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic or medical office preferred
- Current certification or comparable relevant experience required, including CPR certification (must be completed within two weeks of hire)
Additional Requirements
- Ability to follow directions, manage time effectively, and handle stress in a clinical environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to navigate sensitive patient interactions with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs.)
- Ability to handle various physical demands in a busy clinical setting
