About the Role
The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting clinicians and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position is responsible for assisting with clinical and administrative functions that promote efficient care delivery, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience. By serving as a key connection between patients, providers, and care teams, the Medical Assistant helps ensure smooth clinic operations and supports the overall effectiveness of the care center.
Primary Responsibilities
· Assist clinicians with patient examinations and treatments under physician direction.
· Provide front and/or back office clinical support in accordance with Care Center or Medical Group Practice protocols.
· Greet patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner and facilitate a positive patient experience.
· Manage patient check-in by ensuring charts are prepared, medical records are available, patient information is current, and required paperwork is complete.
· Interview patients, obtain and document vital signs, and record the reason for visit.
· Explain procedures, perform treatments, and administer prescribed medications as directed.
· Support patient check-out by scheduling follow-up appointments, collecting co-payments when applicable, and ensuring documentation is complete.
· Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
· Reconcile co-payments at the end of each day in accordance with clinic procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Current and valid Medical Assistant certificate / certification from an accredited training program required.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills may be required, depending on location or patient population.
· Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
· Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is required.
