Full-time position open for a Medical Assistant in our Triage Department for the Lafayette office
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School graduate or equivalent
• At least 2 years’ experience in the medical field is preferred
• Needs to pass a basic background check for criminal history, & OIG exclusions
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Triage is responsible for prepping the charts for the clinical staff
• Vitals (weight, temperature and blood pressure are performed on every patient)
• Responsible for updating pertinent clinical information (medical history, medications, allergies and surgery history)
• Escorting patients from the lobby to triage and then to the appropriate sub waiting area- We have a large population of elderly patients, you will be responsible for assisting and navigating patients with walkers, and wheelchairs to Triage and through the clinic.
- Attention to detail when entering or updating medical information and medicines into the EHR system
OTHER BASIC SKILLS
• Knowledge of medical terminology experience and EMR knowledge preferred
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently when required / appropriate
Working hours for this position are: Monday through Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday 7:30 to 3:00pm
