We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Cardiology, also referred to as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Cardiology or Cardiology Clinical Assistant. The Cardiology Certified Medical Assistant (Cardio - CMA) support cardiologists by preparing patients, performing EKGs and stress tests, assisting with procedures, and managing documentation in the clinic. Cardiology CMA's also handle scheduling, insurance authorizations, and patient education to ensure efficient care and smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities
Prepare patients for exams taking vital signs and documenting cardiac history such as chest pain or palpitations
Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs Holter monitoring event monitors and stress tests ensuring accurate readings
Assist cardiologists during echocardiograms stress tests pacemaker checks and minor in office procedures
Administer medications give injections and prepare medications or IV setups as directed
Collect blood and lab samples for cholesterol cardiac enzyme and metabolic testing and educate patients on heart healthy habits
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required
1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting, preferred
