Responsibilities:
** You must be a Certified Medical AssistantfromtheNational Healthcare Association orothernationally recognizedorganizationto move forward in this position.We do offer programs to help you get yourBasic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
Prepare patients for podiatric exams by taking vitals reviewing medical history and setting up exam rooms
Assistwith foot and ankle procedures including wound care nail treatments and minor surgeries
Sterilize instruments apply dressings or splints and support infection control protocols
Educate patients on diabetic foot care orthotics wound care and post-treatment instructions
Manage scheduling insurance verification referrals and EMR documentation for podiatry visits
Qualifications:
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting, preferred
