Required Skills:
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant training program (CAAHEP or ABHES accredited), or a formal military medical services training program
  • Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants, or registration by the American Medical Technologists or other approved certifying bodies
  • Minimum of one year of recent (within the last 3 years) outpatient family practice or primary care CMA experience
  • BLS certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in vital signs measurement, patient history documentation, and routine diagnostic procedures
  • Ability to maintain clinical cleanliness and stock supplies efficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Additional certifications such as CPR, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or relevant specialties
  • Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse patient populations
  • Prior military healthcare experience

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assistant training program
  • At least one year of recent outpatient clinical experience as a CMA in primary care
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments and exhibit professionalism

Other Requirements:
  • Year-long contractual commitment with start date of 10/14/2024
  • Ability to work the hours of 0730 to 1600, Monday through Friday
  • No extensive time off within the first 90 days; any leave requests must be noted at submission and not exceed 7 days
  • Willingness to undergo any necessary clearances and comply with military and hospital policies
  • Valid licensure, certification, and relevant travel or reimbursement considerations as applicable
