Are you a compassionate, patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) looking to make a meaningful impact? Novant Health Gilead Pediatrics & Internal Medicine is seeking a dedicated CMA to join our collaborative team and help deliver exceptional care to patients of all ages.

 

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in coordinating and assisting providers to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care. You'll work alongside an experienced healthcare team in a fast-paced, supportive environment where your skills and commitment to excellence make a difference every day.

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
    •  Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
  • Coordinate patient care while supporting providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and updating health records.
  • Perform clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Assist with patient education, medication administration (as permitted), and follow-up care instructions.
  • Collaborate with providers and care team members to promote quality outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
